Original signed letter by Dante Gabriel Rosetti concerning Elizabeth Siddel’s return to London after convalescence (gm140)

Original signed letter by Gabriel Dante Rosetti, written in 1854. The letter was written to Benjamin Leigh Smith, father of the artist/feminist Barbara Leigh Smith Bodichon. It concerns the return to London of Elizabeth Siddel after a period of convalescence in Hastings with the Leigh Smith family. She returned with Rosetti on June 26th of that year. It is written on mourning paper with a black border as Rosetti’s father had recently died and the paper has a water mark for the year 1853. One sheet folded with three sides written on.
